YC2 Awardees Shine at PGDX 2024

The Philippine Game Development Expo (PGDX) 2024 has once again cemented its status as the premier event for the country's thriving gaming industry. Held at the SMX Convention Center from July 26-28, 2024, the expo featured an impressive lineup of both local and international game developers, publishers, and enthusiasts. This year’s event boasted numerous attractions, including exclusive game previews, workshops, and opportunities for networking among industry professionals.

Among the standout indie exhibitors were the awardees of the Young Creatives Challenge (YC2), such as High Times by YYM Danni, Craggenrock by Ardeimon, Keyboard Warrior RPG by Alex E Valdez Jr., and Pisonet Simulator by Rinexus Games. These innovative games drew significant attention from both attendees and industry veterans, highlighting the fresh talent and creativity that the Philippine game development scene has to offer. The expo also had the presence of YC2 game developers like Pastille, the creator of Panimdim, and Kuro.kky, known for Card Doctor. Both developers showcased their latest game creations, further contributing to the diverse and vibrant atmosphere of the event.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and other government and private agencies, PGDX created a platform that not only celebrates the achievements of the local game development community but also empowers and inspires the next generation of Filipino game developers.

This year's PGDX is a clear indicator of the growing influence and potential of the Philippine game development industry on the global stage.
